Doug Greenfield saw it coming. Three years ago, while discussing his just completed Katie RAM building, Greenfield says, "Maharishi told me years ago that I would someday build capitals for him all over the world. Maybe this is preparation for my role in creating heaven on earth through Maharishi Sthapatya Veda."
Doug Greenfield hit the nail on the head. Through Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's inspiration, Greenfield and a board of directors recently established Maharishi Global Construction to reconstruct the world using the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
"We want to reconstruct homes, villages, cities, and re-organize nations to be in accord with Natural Law," Greenfield says. "This knowledge can change the physiology of the planet and enlighten the world."
Greenfield to Lead Maharishi Global Construction
Maharishi laid the foundation for the new company at the beginning of the year in Holland. During one meeting, Greenfield reviewed the successes he achieved with his Maharishi Sthapatya Veda buildings here in Fairfield. Encouraged by those successes, Maharishi asked business leaders to form a company to build 435 Maharishi Vedic Centers in the United States and 12 time-zone Capitals throughout the world. Many leaders pledged their support, and Maharishi asked Greenfield to lead the company.
It seems logical that Doug Greenfield should lead Maharishi Global Construction. Greenfield pioneered the use of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda design in Fairfield and in the world. He constructed the stately sister buildings, Katie and Amy RAM, and Telegroup's new 32,000-square-foot Golden Gate Building. He was also general contractor on the Mansion, the first resort hotel designed according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. Now with Maharishi Global Construction, Greenfield expands his building activities to the world.
Maharishi Global Construction was born at noon on Tuesday, February 11. The Board of Directors on the new company includes Greenfield; Christopher Hartnett, Chairman of USA Global Link; Hartnett's father, William Hartnett, a successful real estate developer in Chicago; David Kaplan, developer of the Spiritual Center for America in North Carolina; Earl Kaplan, David's brother and co-developer and President of Reading's Fun, Ltd.; Ted McLaughlin, Chief Financial Officer of Reading's Fun; and Dr. Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management.
Revolutionizing the Building Industry
Maharishi Global Construction offers Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the most ancient and supreme technology of architecture and planning. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda uses precise mathematical formulas, equations, and proportions to design homes and offices in perfect harmony with Natural Law. One of the main principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda design is site selection or proper Vastu, which includes the orientation and layout of towns, villages, office buildings, and homes.
Placement of rooms in a building is
also important. According to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, there are
different areas in a house that are naturally conducive to different
activities. For example, you'll sleep better in one area, so that's
where the bedroom should be placed. In another area you'll feel
hungry, and that's where the kitchen should be, and so on. Applying
these principles creates homes and buildings that promote good
health, happiness, clear thinking, and good fortune for people who
live or work in them.
"These principles will revolutionize the building industry," Greenfield says. "Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is the abstract becoming concrete. People are naturally attracted to these designs because they mirror the laws of nature. They feel at home in them. About 80 percent of my tenants in the Katie RAM and Amy RAM buildings have told me they feel healthier, less fatigued, and make better decisions since they've moved into the buildings. Soon, 250 Telegroup employees will enjoy the same benefits when they move into the Golden Gate building."
Chris Hartnett says a person's activity is one thousand times more powerful in a proper Vastu. Ed Malloy, President of Danaher Oil, says his company increased profits by 20 percent in the first year after moving into the Katie RAM Building. Other Fairfield business leaders report similar successes from working in Maharishi Sthapatya Veda buildings.
The First Project: Building Maharishi Vedic Centers
Maharishi Global Construction is focusing on two areas. First, the company will oversee construction of 435 Maharishi Vedic Centers in every Congressional district throughout the United States. The company plans to provide architectural designs and step-by-step construction guidelines to real estate developers who will build and own the Centers. These owners will lease office space to medical doctors offering the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health, to teachers of the Transcendental Meditation program, and to local organizers of the Natural Law Party. Private businesses or residents will also rent space to ensure profitability for the owners.
"This is a great business opportunity for developers," Greenfield says. "The buildings will be fully leased before construction is finished. They will be centers of enlightenment, as well as business."
Greenfield speaks from experience. He leased all the space and had a waiting list for both the Katie and Amy RAM buildings before the roofs went on the structures.
"My main tenants in the Amy RAM building were not associated with the Transcendental Meditation program or other aspects of Eastern philosophy," he says. "But when I showed them the Katie RAM building and explained the benefits of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, they wanted the technology. Within one week, I had a letter of intent from them on my desk and within a month, we executed a five-year lease. This was all I needed to plan and build the Amy RAM building."
Establishing the 435 Maharishi Vedic Centers is well underway. Organizers are either choosing building sizes, setting up leases, or arranging financing on 200 projects, so far.
Fairfield's Maharishi Vedic Center to be Built on Mandala Nine
On February 11, Robert and Susan Daniels, State Administrators for Maharishi Global Construction in Iowa, announced that a 24,000 square-foot Maharishi Vedic Center will be constructed on Mandala Nine here in Fairfield. Rogers and Candace Badgett, developers of the Raj and Mandala Nine, donated land for the project. Plans call for construction of a three-story building, based on the design of the Amy RAM building. The Center's exterior will match the Raj and other buildings on Mandala Nine. The Center will house the national headquarters of the Natural Law Party of the United States and other Fairfield businesses.
Maharishi Sthapatya Veda's Unique Marketing Angle
Maharishi Global Construction's second area of focus is marketing. Greenfield wants to "aggressively" introduce Maharishi Sthapatya Veda to builders and developers throughout the world and inspire them to use the technology. The company hired Dean Draznin as Marketing Director. Draznin, who worked recently as the Natural Law Party's chief fund-raiser, has extensive public relations and marketing experience.
The recent Houston Home Show, the
nation's largest trade show for builders and developers, provided a
first marketing test. Greenfield, Ed Malloy, architect Henry Clark,
and Paul Worland, owner of an architectural firm in California,
attended the show at the Houston Astrodome. They set up an
east-facing booth with a colorful banner and introduced Maharishi
Global Construction to the attendees. The Houston Chronicle even
covered their presentation in a feature article about the Home Show.
Malloy says the builders' response was excellent.
"We talked to over 500 builders and developers," he says. "About 250 left information for us to call them about joint ventures. It was a revelation to builders to think of a home as more than a structure, but as a place that can help people feel healthier and happier. They saw the marketing possibilities. The building industry is ready for something new, and it's time to move out boldly with this knowledge."
According to Greenfield, there is growing interest in natural building technologies and materials, along with increasing concerns about "sick building" syndromes. Many companies offer natural building materials to make homes healthier places to live. But only Maharishi Global Construction offers a building technology that nourishes the basis of life and promotes health and good fortune.
Orders Keep Pouring In
Maharishi Global Construction works in a proper Vastu with a four-room suite of offices in the Katie RAM building. They will add two more offices for an architectural design team. These offices provide the hub of the budding company's activities. In Greenfield's office, drawings of his Maharishi Sthapatya Veda creations line the walls: several homes and his latest, biggest building, the Golden Gate. Workers come and go, asking Greenfield questions about everything from office supplies to roof Kalashes. His life is incredibly busy these days, yet he remains calm, a stable Brahmasthan in the midst of the dynamism of this latest initiative.
"We have orders in hand for three large office buildings in Fairfield, at least 12 homes, and one subdivision," Greenfield says. "All this has come at us in the last week."
And that's just Fairfield. Add these to the 435 Maharishi Vedic Centers, the 12 time-zone Capitals for Maharishi's Global Administration, plus the plans to build in 4,000 places throughout the world. Doug Greenfield is going to be very busy, and he's going to need a lot of help.
That's why Maharishi Global Construction held a community meeting at the Mansion on February 6. During the meeting, Greenfield, Chris Hartnett, and Malloy outlined their plans for Maharishi Global Construction. All three emphasized that the company is poised for great success and plans to create wealth for both investors and employees. They encouraged everyone to get involved. Malloy said be believes Maharishi Global Construction will become one of the biggest companies in Fairfield.
Many people attending the meeting expressed interest in working full- or part-time or as volunteers. The company has attracted a strong corps of volunteers already, including some Maharishi University of Management students.
Greenfield says the company plans to hire a team of architects and offer full architectural services according to Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. Maharishi Global Construction will also offer general contracting and construction management services. They will produce model homes and educational videotapes. They will plan and build subdivisions, retirement communities, medical centers, commercial buildings, hotels, apartment complexes, custom homes, and more.
All this activity has one purpose: to create heaven on earth by making people feel healthy, happy, and at home. "This is a major wave of new knowledge," Greenfield says. "We all deserve to live in homes like these."
Greenfield predicts Maharishi Global Construction will eventually become an internationally recognized and respected company. Don't be surprised if it happens. Doug Greenfield has a way of knowing these things.
